According to the reports, Dish Network, an American TV giant and satellite broadcast provider, has mysteriously gone offline with its websites and apps not functioning properly since Thursday, 23 February 2023. Moreover, this massive outage affected Dish.com, Dish Anywhere app, DishWireless.com and other websites and networks owned by the corporation. Customers are also unable to connect to the customer service call centers and are experiencing problems while making the bill payment. Also, the customers are facing authentication issues while signing into the TV channel apps like MTV & Starz via their Dish credentials. Additionally, the remote employees of the company are not able to access their work systems. Further, the company’s Twitter support account 'Dish Answers' posted that due to internal system issues some of the customers are facing service disruption, but the network is working hard to restore access. Also, in an internal email sent to employees, the company says it is a "VPN issue." But employees of the company think the network is hit by a cyber-attack and are seeing "blank icons" on their Desktop, which usually happens after a ransomware infection encrypts the victim's files. Moreover, the company, in a written message sent to an employee, stated that a bad outside actor, a known threat agent is behind the attack, and they are not sure how the threat actor gained access. The company also said it is working with an external vendor to resolve the issue.
