Description

Microsoft is working to resolve a significant Microsoft 365 outage that started on November 25, impacting Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, and other services. Users have reported issues with OneDrive, Purview, Copilot, and Outlook (both web and desktop). Microsoft acknowledged the issue in an update referencing admin center ID MO941162, where further details are being provided. The outage has affected customer access to Exchange Online via Outlook, REST APIs, and Exchange ActiveSync (EAS). Additionally, disruptions have been noted in Microsoft Fabric, Bookings, and Defender for Office365. Microsoft attributed the problem to a "recent change" and has deployed a fix across affected systems. To accelerate recovery, manual restarts are underway for servers in unhealthy states. As of now, approximately 90% of the affected environments have received the patch, with telemetry indicating gradual service restoration. Targeted server restarts are focusing on regions entering or currently in business hours to minimize disruptions. However, Microsoft has not yet provided an estimated timeline for full recovery. This outage follows a similar incident in July, where multiple Microsoft 365 and Azure services were down for nine hours due to a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack. For ongoing updates, users are advised to consult the Microsoft 365 Admin Center or the Office Service Health Dashboard.
