Dutch financial crime investigators (FIOD) arrested two individuals and seized approximately 800 servers linked to a hosting infrastructure allegedly used to facilitate cyberattacks, disinformation operations, and interference campaigns. Authorities detained a 57-year-old company director and a 39-year-old executive responsible for a separate internet connectivity provider. Investigators claim the suspects indirectly provided services and economic support to Russian and Belarusian entities under European Union sanctions. The investigation primarily centers on Stark Industries, a hosting provider established in February 2022, shortly before Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The European Union sanctioned the company on May 20, 2025, after which authorities believe the hosting infrastructure was shifted to a newly created Dutch company functioning as a front organization. During coordinated raids at data centers in Dronten and Schiphol-Rijk, along with searches in Enschede and Almere, investigators confiscated servers, laptops, phones, and business records as evidence. Reports indicate that the newly formed entity, WorkTitans B.V., operated hosting services under the THE.Hosting brand and has reportedly been linked to cyber activity associated with the pro-Russian hacktivist group NoName057(16). The group is known for conducting distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks against critical organizations. Another provider, Mirhosting, allegedly supplied server hosting and network connectivity, enabling traffic routing across Europe. While WorkTitans did not respond publicly, Mirhosting denied knowingly supporting illegal activity and stated it acted quickly upon receiving abuse notifications.
